Decatur - David M. Jones, 63 of Decatur, IL passed away on July 7, 2012 at 1:20 p.m. at the Aspen Ridge Care Centre as a result of injuries from a car accident on May 24th, in Decatur, IL near Main St. and Pershing Rd. He never married and had no children.

Per his wishes his body was cremated. He was born, December 20, 1948 in Fairbury Hospital, the son of George C. and Gladys Jones.  Immediate surviving family members are six sisters and two brothers.  Family members are; Mildred (Eugene) King, Pontiac, IL; Rachel Billingsley, Tampa, FL; Carol (Elmer) Goad, Lane, IL; Yvonne (Larry) Ralston, Roanoke, IL; Lynda (Ron) Umbarger, Homer, IL; Donald M. Jones (his twin), Decatur, IL; Mercia Shannon, Irvine, CA; Phillip (Vicki) Jones, Minonk, IL. There are many aunts, uncles and cousins as well.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, one nephew and step-mother.

He graduated from Flanagan High School in 1966. He worked several years at Eureka Williams, and several gas stations in Bloomington, IL. He moved to Decatur and worked at the Donut Shop; George’s Junk Shop and also was self-employed when working with his twin brother, Donald, also of Decatur.

There will not be any memorial service.  A private family burial will be scheduled at a later time when family members are able to come.  The family is being assisted by Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel, Decatur, IL.

David was always a giving person and was always there to give someone a helping hand when needed.  After family members have chosen the personal possessions they wish to keep as a token of his memory for their loved one, the rest of the items will be donated to needy families and charities that helped him throughout his lifetime.

We believe this is what David would have wanted, to be able to give back to others that gave to him.  May all our blessings be bestowed upon him now that he has entered into the Kingdom of Glory.  Now he can walk the streets of gold in heaven with a glorified body in the presence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. May each person who shared a part of his life somehow know that he cared for you in his own way.

Memorials may be made in David’s memory to the Decatur Memorial Hospital ICU. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
